Brand Intro: KkCo / A First and Favorite Brand at Cosimo

True with the Mini Rivet Bag for our launch campaign
When initially planning Cosimo’s assortment, we went hunting for brands that felt aligned with our ethos - serving the curious, unusual, and well dressed with an artistic point of view. We were drawn to KkCo for exactly that reason. The Los Angeles-based brand moves between all categories, refusing to sit neatly at any side of the spectrum.
Founded by Kara Jubin, KkCo develops and produces locally in Los Angeles. Alongside building her own line, Jubin has worked for Brain Dead since 2017, being named Head of Design and Development last July.

KkCo SS26 Campaign
Across her own world, her designs are rooted in tension: familiar styles with funky accoutrements. Basics obscured by a piercing motifs, windbreakers finished with ruffles, and flowy skirts cut from technical hiking fabrics.
KkCo has also built a world around the tension between fashion and the natural world. For SS26, they examined the divide between the natural and manmade. For their “Natural Technology” line, the idea was conceived during a camping trip through California’s Portola Redwoods. The dense, natural forest in contrast to the infrastructure of LA inspired the starting point.

KkCo SS26 Launch Party
What resulted was not only a system of interchangeable garments, but a groundbreaking experimental event to launch them. Art installations took over their Chinatown storefront, with rock-like phones that played the sounds of the redwoods.
For us, this commitment to a unique uncompromising vision and world-building they have surrounded it with is exactly what makes KkCo feel at home at Cosimo. It’s functional, expressive, natural, and innovative.

KkCo SS26 Campaign
KkCo was one of the few brands with us from the very beginning, before we even had a storefront. It has been part of what we imagined Cosimo could become from the start, and we’re so excited give it space to be experienced in person. New Autumn/Winter arrivals from KkCo hit the floor this week! Come play ;)

From Cosimo
Between our trip to NY for market, SCAD move in, Jazz fest weekend in Savannah, and the busy days in between, September flew by before we had the chance to grab on! Thanks for a busy, fun month in store, phew…
October holds much to look forward to… new fall arrivals from our favorite brands: KkCo, Alohas, Deiji Studios, Edie Parker, and a few NEW additions we are thrilled to share with you… just not quite yet. A GRAND opening celebration weekend the 16th and 17th complete with a ribbon cutting alongside the Savannah Chamber of Commerce and capital P Party! With sweater weather top of mind, here’s a few fall topics on the moodboard:
To wear: Percival Menswear… We introduced Percival in store last week to much fanfare, love you boys! The London based line does good wardrobe staples in excellent fabrics. My favorite pieces include a perfect cropped boxy button down and a fisherman sweater that feels like wearing the softest knit blanket. Ladies, don’t let the menswear label keep you from shopping the line, look how fabulous Estella looks in the aforementioned sweater AND Percival brand carpenter pants.

To Eat: Specials Pizza! If you’ve ever asked me where to go for dinner in Savannah, you know my answer is always Late Air. Our friends that brought you the perfect wine bar for date night have since done us all the service of affordable, delicious, late night food and cocktails, not to mention the best team serving them! This past weekend I found myself (somewhat ashamedly) at Specials on two separate occasions not 24 hours apart. Saturday night inspired a Spritz and Sunday afternoon called for a slice to recover from one too many. Go get a bite and survey the vintage Italian Spring Breakers poster - just check their socials ahead of time as they’re operating on a soft opening basis atm.
To Watch: Interior Motives… Host Ben Mora and two guests, usually of the It-girl variety, guess the age, gender, sexual orientation, and location of the subject based on images of their room. It’s as fun and raunchy as it sounds, a favorite episode to start with is Hari Nef and Juliana Huxtable.
Happy October, come see us in store this weekend <3
